About CHILD LIFE
Medical toys are often used by kiddo’s to help with processing worries related to negative medical experiences and uncertainties.
“You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win, no matter what the outcome””
Certified Child Life Specialists are professionals who help children and their families cope with stressful and traumatic healthcare experiences, and/or challenging life events.
With a background in child development, Child Life Specialists provide children and their families with developmentally appropriate interventions to help reduce fear, anxiety and pain associated with the adversity and challenges they are facing.
A playful feelings intervention used to help kiddo’s identify their various feelings and track their intensity. Safety googles needed for this one!
Interventions to help deal with grief, loss, & anxieties related to death, illness or injury include: therapeutic play, psychoeducation and and expressive arts.
